Women Empowerment in Uganda: SISO Foundation Supporting Girls and Young Women
• By Sasha

Women empowerment in Uganda remains a key factor in building strong and sustainable communities. SISO Foundation is actively supporting girls and young women through programs focused on education, reproductive health, and skills development. These initiatives aim to equip young women with the knowledge and resources they need to live healthy, independent, and empowered lives.
SISO Foundation continues to implement community-based programs that address the challenges faced by girls and young women, especially in underserved areas. Many young women lack access to education, proper health information, and economic opportunities, which limits their potential and exposes them to risks such as early school dropout and poverty.
Through its empowerment initiatives, SISO Foundation provides training, mentorship, and support to help young women gain confidence and practical skills. These programs focus on areas such as life skills development, reproductive health awareness, and income-generating activities.
In addition, the foundation promotes menstrual hygiene awareness by educating girls about proper hygiene practices and providing essential materials. This support helps reduce absenteeism in schools and ensures that girls can continue their education without interruption.
The beneficiaries of these programs include school-going girls, out-of-school youth, and young women in local communities. By engaging directly with these groups, SISO Foundation creates a safe space for learning, growth, and empowerment.
SISO Foundation remains committed to empowering women and girls across Uganda by creating opportunities for education, health awareness, and economic independence. These efforts are essential in building resilient communities and promoting gender equality.
